Steven Francesco - Chairman
Cohere Communications, LLC. is the brainchild of Mr. Francesco, and his commitment to quality communications can be seen throughout his career. Before creating Cohere, Mr. Francesco was recruited in early 2003 by China to Net (C2N) as CEO of US Operations, and was elected to their Board of Directors. C2N had spent the past three years developing a national digital wireless project in China. C2N is in the final stage of formation of the joint venture (JV) process with the China Satellite Communications Group, which is one of the six licensed China-based telecommunications providers. This JV will subsequently become the recipient of a nationwide wireless operating license in support of existing government mandated and commercial users.
Elliot Stein - Director
As a Director, partner and investor of traditional communications companies, Mr. Stein brings management and problem solving expertise in communications businesses to the Cohere Board. Mr. Stein is Chairman of Caribbean International News Corporation, the owner of El Vocero de Puerto Rico, a large circulation daily paper in San Juan. He is also a shareholder and member of the Board of Directors of Cloud, LLC and VTG Holdings, Inc., manufacturers of machinery, cable and wire products. Additionally Mr. Stein was a general partner of Television Station Partners, which owned and operated four television stations. He is Managing Director of Commonwealth Capital Partners, a private equity fund. Mr. Stein was formerly a Director of the Alliance Technology Fund. He was formerly a Director of Play Power Inc., a manufacturer of playground equipment (sold in 2002). He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the New School University and Claremont Graduate University.
Ezio D'Onofrio - Director
Ezio D'Onofrio is President and CEO of Globalive Communications. The Globalive group of companies includes: Yak Communications, OneConnect, Canopco, Assemble Conferencing, InterClear and Canada Payphone.
Ezio joined Globalive in 2001 and during his tenure, Globalive has been recognized as one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. Globalive Communications was ranked as the Fastest Growing Company in Canada in 2004 due to its staggering sales increase of 12,479% since 1998. After being in business for only six years. Globalive was named to Deloitte's prestigious Canadian Technology Fast 50 in 2005, the annual program that recognizes excellence, innovation and the fastest growing tech companies in Canada.
Ezio oversees the Sales, Marketing, Operations, Customer Service and Network Engineering departments and is instrumental in strategic planning and acquisitions.
Previously D'Onofrio was the Vice President of Operations at Novus Communications, where he oversaw start-up operations in both Vancouver and Toronto. Ezio's telecom experience spans 22 years and includes positions at Rogers Cable in Toronto and Le Groupe Vidéotron, where he was involved in the start-up of their cable TV/telephony/Internet network in the United Kingdom and the U.S. D'Onofrio sits on the boards of Canada Payphone Corporation; Globalive Investment Holdings Corp.; Globalive Telecom Holdings Corp.; Globalive Wireless Management Corp., which includes entity Wind Mobile, Canada's newest mobile service provider; International Calling Services Incorporated; Opcom Hospitality Solutions Inc.
Andrew Russin - Director
Mr. Russin is the founder and Managing Director of JR Marketing, LLC, which provides consulting and marketing services to hedge funds, funds of funds and private equity funds such as Gladiator Funds, Verity Investment Partners, Landmark Capital, Paladin Homeland Security Fund and Gartemore Riverview International Group. Prior to his marketing career, Mr. Russin practiced law, developing two joint ventures: a money management services company to the credit union industry, and a firm securitizing multi-family mortgages. In addition, he has served in the Office of the Chairman of Patrick Media Group, an outdoor advertising acquisition and disposition company. He was Executive Vice President of Eccleston Properties and on the Tax Staff of Andersen and Co. In 2002 Mr. Russin served on the steering committee that formed the Mid Atlantic Hedge Fund Association (mahfa.org). In 2003 he became President of MAHFA and initiated the first "Outlook for Hedge Funds Conference." Mr. Russin holds a BS from the University of Scranton and a JD, LLM from Temple University School of Law.
Anthony Lacavera - Director
Anthony Lacavera, co-founded Globalive Communications Corp. in 1998, only one year after completing a computer engineering degree at the University of Toronto. In 10 short years, Lacavera has led the company through the launch of over 18 successful products in over 30 countries, and to earning several prestigious recognitions including: being ranked the fastest-growing company in Canada in the 16th annual rankings of Profit Magazine, being one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies for three consecutive years, being ranked in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50, and winning a place in Canadian Business Magazine's Top 30 Workplaces in Canada.
Anthony also serves as co-founder and Chairman of several of Globalive's present and past portfolio companies, including Enunciate Conferencing, OneConnect Services, Cohere Conferencing, Join The Call and most recently acquired Yak Communications. In 2006, Lacavera was named to the celebrated Top 40 Under 40 list, at the age of 31.
